Odysseus Complex
	The complex has begun

The souls embodiment of life is its odyssey. The journey through love, pain, joy, rage and glory
is something that we all must experience and survive. To breathe the crisp air of its apex, one
must crawl from the putrid bowels of its darkness. To know the best, one must first be acquainted
with the squalor of failure and rejection at its blistering worst. All beings shall embark on this
path through the odyssey in hopes of reaching a higher consciousness. Many will fall and struggle
to reassemble. Others will free themselves from the barriers in hopes of achieving enlightenment.
        No matter how we discover the outcome, the conclusion is always certain;
there is no path to avoid the Odysseus Complex.

Bio
Ever since Lucid crashed the Baton Rouge scene, the band has showcased a hard rock jam band core
with funk/blues bass, pulse pounding metal riffs, and vocals that ranged from pensive and soulful
to vein popping screams. Constantly striving to keep their sound alive and avoid stagnation, Lucid
began venturing into other avenues of music to further enhance their own. Slowly the nucleus of
their style began to morph into a more melodic and flowing vibe that takes you from melancholy
lows and thrusts forward into rhythmic highs. To assure that the band will not be pigeonholed into
a typical metal style, Lucid incorporates drop tempo melodies to intensify the dynamic sweep of
many of their songs. Through their exploration Lucid has found the proper channels to take the band
into a progressive sound that is not only exciting to the body but insightful to the soul. While
they're considered progressive hard rock, the band still enjoys keeping that jam band feel that
	helped to start it all.

After a couple years of searching, guitarist Adam Hawley and bassist Jess Reed completed Lucid's
lineup in 2003 with Justin Landry (vocals) and Chance Toups (drums). Playing local bars, the band
began building their fan base by covering other artists and writing original music. However, it
wasn't long before Lucid was dealt their first heavy blow when Toups stepped down as drummer due
to his newfound fatherhood. The band found their next drummer in Bert Thibodeaux. After three short
months they were in the studio recording their first full-length album, "IV Year." Immediately
following its release the band hit the road on a gulf coast tour appropriately titled "The Colossal
Fabulous Tour." Not long after coming home Bert decided to leave the band, putting Lucid once
again on the search for a drummer. Feeling low after grueling months of tryouts, Terry "Tiny" Pitre
appeared with beats that felt like home. Once Tiny joined the family, Lucid felt the rush of new
blood and began writing new material.

Lucid is currently releasing their sophomore album, "Odysseus Complex." To further elaborate the
profoundness of this experience, the "Odysseus Complex" trilogy will be created as three EP's each
having its own fingerprint on the album's story. The trinity will take you through a world of emotions,
fears, loves, trials and triumphs while you tap your foot and bang your head. It all begins with
"Premonition;" the introduction of the darkness that dwells within, feeding your doubt, crushing
your spirit and ultimately trying to consume you. It boasts tracks such as, "In the Night" and "Shotgun"
that jump head first into the most insecure spaces of the mind while being chased by hard hitting fast
paced drums and guitars. With the end of this tunnel still long out of sight, one can only wonder,
will its end bring a vibrant light or only more darkness?
